Post 3 - What's Your Favourite Piece of Technology?

Hello, my dear explorers! The post assignment for this week is: What is your favourite piece of technology? The idea is to develop a quite convincing argument about the piece of technology you personally think it makes your life easier or more confortable if you like.
Please, include:
  1. What it is
  2. When you got it
  3. How you use it.
  4. How often you use it
  5. Why you like it
  6. What life would be like without it
Posdata:
  1. Your post should have no less than 140 words
  2. include a picture
  3. leave a comment on three of your classmates' posts and another one on your teacher's post as well
To be perfectly honest, I am not the kind of person who is really into the latest technology advances. I do not really care about the latest smart mobile phones, TV screens, cars, or even washing machines, being advertised everywhere and everytime. But, I do not deny the fact that technology has changed our lives for better efficient ends. Personally, I do believe that computers with internet access have thoroughly revolutionised our trivial lives to make them more relevantly purposeful (irony). With a computer connected to the internet, I can basically manage and have access to everything I am interested in: mostly music and books.
My parents bought one in the late 90's. I remember that my sisters and I used to fight a lot for taking turns on it. Now, everyone has their own laptop.
I do not do any extraordinary things whenever I am on my laptop. Most of the time, I download tons of megabytes of music files, and, when I have to work, I spend long hours preparing classes and checking teaching material on the net. It is amazing how you can get all the information you need by 'one click'. I cannot imagine how, back in the day, students were able to find exactly what they were looking for among thousands and thousands of bookshelves. That must have been a time-consuming task for sure. Nowadays, there is Google, which provides you everything you want in a timely fashion.
For these simple reasons, I think that my favourite piece of technology - so to say - has to be a computer with an internet connection.

Post 7 - A career-related website / an expert on your field

On today's post, we will be talking about some websites or experts on our field we consider important to consult from time to time.  The idea is you do some research and single out those pieces of information you can't miss if you're dealing with any given subject on your field. Explain why those topics and/or authorities are important in your opinion. This time, the length of your posts should be in no less than 170 words, and try to leave comments on everybody's posts as usual. A quality post should have no less than 190 words.  The beauty of (paying attention to) simple things About two years ago, I was really depressed. I had to get over a relationship breakup, deal with shitty jobs, and sort out my MA thesis report. Ergo, I was going nowhere. I felt like a lost-and-found office deep inside  -finding comfort in my friends was not really an option for me, as I was very ashamed of not being capable of solving my own problems (vicious circle), so I didn´t want to talk to anyone about my misery.  The only thing I had in mind at that time was t
